Our Response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

June 1st, 2020 – Welcome Back!

Dear Patients and Parents,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

With our office now open, we’ve made enhancements to our safety and infection protocols as recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff:

  • Our office will send you a screening questionnaire to fill out one day before your appointment. If you will be accompanying your child, we ask that you fill out the questionnaire for yourself as well. Only patients with appointments and one guardian will be permitted into the office.
  • If you have an orthodontic appointment, Dr. Kothari would like you to submit photos of your teeth in advance at 914smiles.com/checkin so he can be prepared for your visit.
  • We are implementing a new curbside check-in process. When you arrive, please text us at (914) 332-0900 and we will let you know when it is time for you to enter for your appointment.
  • When you enter the office we will review your screening questionnaire, take your temperature, and provide hand sanitizer.
  • Since our tooth brushing stations are closed, please brush your teeth before coming for your appointment.
  • Appointment times will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients and thorough cleaning of the treatment rooms. This might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
  • If you or anyone in your household has been sick in the last 2 weeks, please inform us to reschedule your appointment.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we are taking to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at (914) 332-0900 or email us at hello@914smiles.com.

Thank you for your continued trust and loyalty and we look forward to welcoming you back!

Sincerely,

Drs. Kothari, Kumar and the 914 Smiles Team

Dear Patients and Parents,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. We have been following Governor Cuomo’s daily updates as well as those from the American Dental Association and the NY State Dental Association. Although we feel optimistic about the decline in spread of the coronavirus, we have not yet been given the green light to resume providing routine dental care.

We appreciate your understanding as we navigate through this time together and we will continue to provide you with the latest information via email, text message, and social media. Phones will still be answered, and messages checked routinely.

Once again, we’d like to thank all of you for your patience during this time. We are privileged to serve you and the community and look forward to seeing your smiles again soon!

Thank you and be well,

Drs. Kothari, Kumar and the 914 Smiles Team

Dear Patients and Parents,

We want to personally reach out to you and provide an update on the actions that 914 Smiles is taking to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and support the health and well-being of our patients and team. Following the updated mandates from the NY State Dental Association and Governor Cuomo, we are temporarily closing the office through May 15th.

We appreciate your understanding as we navigate through this time together and we will continue to provide you with the latest information via email, text message, and social media. Phones will still be answered, and messages checked routinely.

For your convenience, in the event of a dental emergency or if you have any questions about your orthodontic treatment and would like to send us pictures to review your progress, we have an excellent new check-in service that will make communicating with us during our office closure a lot easier!

Simply complete your online check-in here by uploading a few images of your teeth, letting us know if you have any questions or concerns, and attaching your preferred method of communication. Once that is done, a 914 Smiles team member will contact you to assist!

Alternatively, you may also text or email photos of the concern to either (914) 332-0900 or hello@914smiles.com.

Once again, we’d like to thank all of you for your patience during this time. We are privileged to serve you and the community and look forward to seeing your smiles again soon!

Thank you and be well,

Drs. Kothari, Kumar and the 914 Smiles Team
